Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council (SCAHC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission of fostering and promoting arts and cultural heritage in Sussex County. Its gallery in Newton, NJ, hosts 9+ visual arts exhibitions annually, with three juried exhibitions and others open. Exhibitions are open to the public and contain many regional artists.

During Garden State Art Weekend, SCHAC will have "Awakenings" on exhibit. Awakenings theme is the exploration of moments that shift our perspective, spark change, and inspire new ways of thinking - one of changing perspectives and transformative experiences. It is an exhibition open to all artistic mediums.

SCAHC is a proud partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey State Historical Commission and is designated by the Sussex County Board of Commissioners as the official arts and cultural heritage organization of Sussex County.
