Please join us at 60 Main St, ChaShaMa Matawan Studios and Gallery! There is an opening on Saturday 3-7pm, featuring the work of Justin DeMattico. We will be hosting open studios all 3 days from 2-5pm.
“Divine Reflections” is an exhibition showcasing the profound works of Justin DeMattico, deeply rooted in Christian faith and imbued with a rich tapestry of themes including individual development, judgment, and the quest for acceptance. Through an array of mediums including portraiture, paintings, drawings from sketchbooks, and mesmerizing 3-D printed animal-totem sculptures, the artist delves into the intricacies of the human experience. Each piece serves as a portal into the artist's soul, inviting viewers to contemplate the ethereal landscapes and celestial beings depicted, while also exploring the symbolic significance of animals and symbols in Christian iconography. From the divine radiance emanating from each canvas to the intricate details of sculpted creatures, 'Divine Reflections' is a transcendent experience, guiding visitors through realms of redemption, acceptance, and the eternal promise of heavenly grace. This exhibition is a testament to the artist's unwavering dedication to conveying the Christian message of hope and redemption through the lens of unparalleled beauty and spiritual resonance.
We are located 20 minutes from Sandy Hook, less than an hour from Philly, 30 minutes from Asbury Park, even with beach traffic and we are accessible to NYC by NJ transit! Something interesting that most people don’t know about our location in Matawan is that it sits on the edge of the waterfront where the ‘Jaws’ story originated in 1916. We’re right on the edge of a beautiful marsh, which is another nice feature for our artists. What are you looking forward to for the rest of 2021? By providing “Space to Create,” ChaShaMa Matawan is looking forward to bringing innovative, cutting edge art exhibitions that express the hope that is generated from arts-based healing, encouraging new growth in our local arts community.
